The Warchestra series was made in memory of, and to honour, the Iraqi musicians, artists and intellectuals whose lives were endangered or lost during the country’s turbulent times.

Sundus Abdul Hadi is an artist, writer and Co-Founder of We Are The Medium. Articulated through her artistic practice, writing and curation, Sundus’ work is a sensitive reflection on trauma, struggle and care.

We Are The Medium (WATM) is an artist collective culture point for communication through video, music, print and visual arts. Consisting of family members, the tribal structure of WATM is a counter-action to the regular model of the arts industry. Its work is intentional, intuitive and fiercely independent. With a bird’s-eye view of the industry, WATM intends to give back what it has received from culture.
