Through charming illustrations and sharp story-line, Hajo explores how the universe is constructed from dots, lines and shapes, and how they work harmoniously to create.
The Dot was originally published in Arabic by Bright Fingers, a publishing house Hajo co-founded with her husband, Samer al-Kadri, in Syria in 2004. The Dot That Couldn’t Sit Still was amongst the stories that they wrote, illustrated and published, promoting innovative children’s literature in Syria and the surrounding region. This is the first time Hajo’s work has been published in English by a United Kingdom-based publisher.
About the Author
In 2004, Gulnar Hajo started writing and illustrating children’s books, publishing more than 20 books since, some of which have won awards and have been translated into English, French and Turkish.
