Published by Page One Publishing with the support of the Emirates Foundation on behalf of Works on Paper, this bilingual publication includes an introduction by curator November Paynter and a conversation between Lamya Gargash and Fouad Elkhoury, celebrated Lebanese photographer and Arab Image Foundation Co-Founder.
About the Artist
Lamya Gargash was the first Emirati artist to represent the UAE at the country’s first National participation at the fifty-third Venice Biennial in 2009. Concerned with the relics of an ever self-renewing architecture, Gargash documents the forgotten spaces in public and private realms in Emirati society. Her works have been included in film festivals and solo and group shows around the world.
