About the Brand
RJD Palette & Pieces a part of artist that is a treasure seeker. Treasure for me are pieces lovingly made by others, vintage finds, or treasure from nature, pebbles & organic forms
found on beaches & in woods, one of kind pieces that all have a story to tell. When I come across these pieces I feel a tingle that tells me this is special.
I love to find these treasures on my travels & especially love to create pieces that could become treasure for others…that came from my story, but once found will
become part of their story too.
It’s called Palette & Pieces as how I work is very much informed by how I worked in my career as a fashion designer. I spent 16 years designing womenswear in
London & Hong Kong, for Uk & International high street brands, a role which involved traveling extensively around Europe & Asia sourcing inspiration,
fabrics, prints & developing collections.
My vision of putting together palettes of colour, pattern & textures is how I develop my pieces now, treating clay like fabric to create co-ordinating collections
consisting of pieces that can stand alone, or combine together to form a sculptural or functional display, adding flowers, foliage & candles.
My ideas & collections are constantly evolving. Each piece is handbuilt, so a very limited production, sometimes only 1 or 2 of each style is made. Also due to the
nature of handbuilding, no two are the same, always with a very organic feel. Being mindful of current trends & influences, I ultimately endeavour to create timeless
pieces that will be relevant & treasured for years to come.
