The book started as a photography project in 2014 and has been developed for over five years. What began as a documentation of encounters with different people in different places turned out to be a journey of seeking home overseas, filling voids, and understanding love and longing.

Augustine Paredes is a multi-disciplinary artist questioning what it means to desire in the light of love, loss, and longing. His lyrical, contemporary, and sensuous visual narratives are derived from his many-storied travels, South East Asian consciousness, and queer gaze.
He is an alumna of Salama Bint Hamdan Emerging Artist Fellowship, Campus Art Dubai, and International Summer School of Photography, and has been nominated for 13 Artists Awards, World Press Photo Joop Swart Masterclass. He has been exhibited in the Philippines, Malaysia, Latvia, Australia, and the United Arab Emirates.
He is an author of two self-published books: Conversations at the end of the universe (2020) and Long Night Stands With Lonely, Lonely Boys (2021)
He is a co-founder of Sa Tahanan Collective along with artist and curator Anna Bernice, they aim to create a platform for Filipino art and creatives through exhibitions, art sales, and collaborations.
As a commercial photographer, he is represented by Dubai-based studio, Seeing Things and has worked with brands such as Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Puma, Adidas, Nike, and are featured in publications such as New York Times, Vogue, GQ, Elle, Der Grief, Canvas Magazine, Cosmopolitan Philippines, and MEGA Man Magazine.
