DUNES is a set of vide-poches that leaves room to its user’s interpretation, going beyond the role of the receptacle.
About the Artist
Shaha Raphael is a designer from Lebanon that graduated from the Architectural Association in 2021 with a Diploma of Honours.
Her work is driven by a fascination with materials and their transformation. It explores fabrication that operates across various scales, from the geology of the landscapes to the product’s sculptural properties. Shaha explores design tools both in the physical and digital world, constantly feeding off of one to inform the other, switching mediums and materials.
About the Brand
Exil Collective was created as an invitation to change the way design is perceived in Lebanon and the Middle East.
In order to reach this goal, we put forward a set of guidelines meant to optimise creation, production, and distribution of design objects imagined by local talents and produced by local artisans. These guidelines are meant to direct the designers’ thinking toward local feasibility, waste reduction, and ethical production: context as a guide for creation tailored to local manufacturing.
