The Sadu Alphabet by Shamma Bu Hazza is an abstract application of the geometric shapes that are characteristic of Sadu weaving—practiced by traditional Emirati women, and a recent addition to the UNESCO list of Intangible Heritage practices.
Tatreez by Nour Flayhan, is inspired directly by different Levantine embroidery styles, specifically worn by Druze women from Lebanon, Palestine and Syria. This pattern is also a celebration of the embroidery her grandmother would carefully toil over—paying homage to the Levante, her roots, and ancestry.

About the artist
Born out of necessity, and a desire to explore the world of leather goods on her own terms, Azra Khamissa started AZRA in 2015. An evolving offering has maintained its core values: minimalism, reducing waste and keeping things very, very local. The foundations lay in the use of ethically sourced camel leather, designing the bags herself, and making in collaboration with local artisans.
