This bilingual publication features a text by Saira Ansari* on the work of Rukh and the influence of the percussive scheme of Hindustani classical Taal on her work.
Drawn largely from the Art Jameel Collection, Artist’s Rooms is a series of solo exhibitions by influential, innovative artists, with particular focus on practitioners from the Middle East, Asia and Africa. These capsule shows are collaborative and curated in dialogue with the artist.

About the Artist
Lala Rukh taught for 30 years at Punjab University, Department of Fine Art and the National College of Arts where she set up the Masters in Visual Art Program in the year 2000. After retiring from teaching, she devoted her time to activism and her studio in Lahore.
