About the Artist
Antoine Guekjian graduate of the Lebanese Academy of Fine Arts (ALBA) with a Bachelor’s degree in Product Design, Antoine now manages his family business specializing in manufacturing Industrial equipment and machinery.
Antoine’s passion for the industrial process has helped him in his design journey and allowed him to express his creativity through the final and crucial stage of design: the Production phase. It has also helped him in his quest for production solutions to juggle an industrial approach and a deep knowledge of available local craftsmanship.
About the Brand
Exil Collective was created as an invitation to change the way design is perceived in Lebanon and the Middle East.
In order to reach this goal, we put forward a set of guidelines meant to optimise creation, production, and distribution of design objects imagined by local talents and produced by local artisans. These guidelines are meant to direct the designers’ thinking toward local feasibility, waste reduction, and ethical production: context as a guide for creation tailored to local manufacturing.
