Taysir Batniji’s work, often tinged with impermanence and fragility, draws inspiration from his subjective story, as well as current events and history. His methods of approach always distance, divert, stretch, conceptualise or simply play with the initial subject, ultimately offering a poetic and sometimes acrid point of view on reality.

Curator and video artist Vicky Moufawad-Paul is the Artistic Director at A Space Gallery. Her videos focus on personal narratives situated in larger social formations and historical processes to explore the ways in which political events shape personal lives.
