This bilingual publication features a text by Jyoti Dhar exploring different elements of the collaborative projects between Shah and Singh. Drawn largely from the Art Jameel Collection, Artist’s Rooms is a series of solo exhibitions by influential, innovative artists, with particular focus on practitioners from the Middle East, Asia and Africa. These capsule shows are collaborative and curated in dialogue with the artist.
About the Artists
Seher Shah’s practice uses experiences from the field of art and architecture to think about space, landscape, objects and aesthetics through drawing, printmaking and sculpture. Her work draws through scale shifts between the individual to architecture, personal memory to collective historical events and the transformation of symbols and spaces. Randhir Singh spent 15 years working in New York City at several award-winning architecture and design firms while taking photography classes. His practice draws on his education as an architect with a focus on issues related to architecture and urbanism.
