For over 17 years, Sedira has explored notions of family, tradition, oral history, migration and the intergenerational transmission of knowledge, often through a personal lens.

Covering close to two decades of Zineb Sedira’s practice, a selection of which was exhibited in a major survey exhibition at the Sharjah Art Foundation, this publication is edited by Sarah Zürcher and includes scholarly essays by Glenn Lowry, Marie Muracciole and Morad Montazami along with a conversation with Hoor Al Qasimi, Director of Sharjah Art Foundation. It features seminal works, recent sculptures and installations and rarely-seen videos, and includes documentation of three new commissions by SAF.
