Fred Sandback, a prominent minimalist Artist, and the Pritzker Prize-winning Architect Luis Barragán shared an interest in the properties of light and colour, which they considered central to their practices.

In 2016, sculptures by the artist were temporarily installed in the architect’s Casa Luis Barragán, Casa Antonio Gálvez, Cuadra San Cristóbal and Casa Gilardi. The resulting interplay was documented in remarkable photographs and is presented for the first time in this bilingual publication with essays by Barragán Foundation Director Federica Zanco and Curator Daniel Garza Usabiaga, as well as a conversation between Architect Roger Duffy, Artist Amavong Panya, Curator Lilian Tone and Art Historian Edward Vazquez.
