Traditional Japanese paper balloons like this one, called Kamifusen, have been loved by children since they emerged in the 1920s as a cheaper alternative to rubber balloons.
If played with carefully, the balloon can be flattened and blown up again and again. The easiest way to hang the balloon is to tie some thread to an uncoiled paper clip and insert it in the hole. The thread can be attached to the ceiling with washi tape or white tacks.
About the Brand
Based in the Norfolk Countryside, Petra Boase is an award-winning small and eclectic brand established in 1999 by Petra and run in collaboration with her husband, Russel. The pair draw on their skills in textile design and children’s books illustration to produce the brand’s fun and internationally-sold range of greeting cards, stationery, gifts, prints and patches. Alongside their own designs, they also source products from their travels overseas that compliment the brand’s range.
